This wine comes from a recent private cellar purchase. All the wines purchased have been stored in a temperature-controlled wine fridge and we can vouch for their cellar provenance. We have no reason to think that this wine will not be in perfect condition when you open it but, please note that because we were not the original purchaser of this wine, our usual ‘no questions asked’ guarantee does not apply and we are unable to replace or refund your purchase should the wine be faulty in any way.

The winery writes "Ink-dark crimson, Awatea Cabernets/Merlot ’17 glimmers with bright raspberry, cherry and blackberry sparkling over mocha, cedar and spice. Always a favourite expression of fine Hawke’s Bay cabernet, Awatea from 2017 is refreshing and moreish as well as typically elegant. Aromas of red and dark berry fruit, flashes of boysenberry and espresso on the palate, and a classical, super-fine, tannin structure running through to its long finish make Awatea Cabernets/Merlot ’17 a true star. "

The palate is succulent and beautifully rounded, offering lovely flow and supple texture. Wonderfully composed and elegantly expressed with loads of delectable flavours, superbly structured by polished tannins. Delicious already with a potential to evolve gracefully.'

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
