Shed 530 Estate was hit hard by Cyclone Gabrielle, with the historic site closed for nearly a year as the team undertook the massive job of rebuilding. Thanks to sheer grit and determination, the cellar door reopened in December 2024, and this wine stands as a beautiful reminder of what resilience and hard work can achieve.

Bright, expressive and seriously drinkable, this Reserve Syrah from Shed 530 is a total crowd-pleaser – full of plush fruit, smooth texture and just the right amount of spice. It opens with juicy blueberry and dark plum aromas, backed by hints of licorice, chocolate and a savoury touch of tobacco. There’s a lovely lift to the nose – aromatic and inviting without being over the top.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Beautifully fruited and inviting, the wine shows Black Doris plum, blueberry, floral, warm spice and toasted nut aromas on the nose. The palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, well supported by well-integrated tannins. Flavoursome and harmonious with a lengthy velvety finish."
The winery writes "Blueberry aromas are complemented by dark licorice, chocolate and tobacco. The palate shows good richness with a pleasant acid vein that helps to carry the wine through the mouth to silky tannins."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
