Encased under a premium wax seal, TNT 2020 is a wine that looks every bit as impressive as it tastes. This is pinot noir of rare distinction and purity - a standout example of quality Central Otago Pinot, and an unmissable opportunity at this price.

This exquisite pinot noir is a masterclass in craftsmanship - the product of a vineyard so rugged it had to be dynamited open to release its potential. From this Bendigo Hills site, Rock Ferry has coaxed a wine of remarkable poise and depth, demonstrating refined winemaking and attention to detail.

Hand-harvested pinot noir grapes were destemmed directly into terracotta amphorae, where it fermented and matured for six months. From there, the wine spent a further twelve months in seasoned French oak barriques, developing harmony, complexity, and that signature savoury depth while retaining vivid fruit vibrancy.

The bouquet is alluring and layered, with notes of doris plum, cocoa, lavender, and dried rose petals unfolding in elegant harmony. On the palate, a fine interplay of dark cherry, spice, and earthy forest floor tones glide across a supple frame, supported by chalky, refined tannins that provide structure and finesse. This is a remarkable buy for fans of exceptional Central Otago Pinot.

Bob Campbell MW writes "TNT refers to the dynamite used to open up a rocky outcrop that produced the grapes for this wine. Quite a tangy pinot noir with vibrant sweet/sour characters."
Michael Cooper writes "Certified organic, the highly characterful 2020 vintage (5*) was estate-grown and hand-picked in the northwest-facing TNT block in the Trig Hill Vineyard, at Bendigo. Fermented and aged for six months in a clay amphora, it was then matured for a year in seasoned oak barriques and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Ruby hued, it is invitingly fragrant and mouthfilling, with rich, ripe fruit flavours, nutty, very savoury notes adding impressive complexity, and good tannin backbone."
The winery writes "An intriguing nose of doris plum, cocoa, lavendar, and dried rose petals. On the palate ample spice, dark fruits, and earthy forest floor notes are underpinned by chalky fine tannins which frame the fruit and provide structure for a long, complex finish."
