Poema Alvarinho Reserva is a structured alvarinho from Monção e Melgaço, the most prestigious area for the grape in Portugal. The region’s cooler Atlantic influence allows for slow ripening, giving both freshness and aromatic intensity.

The wine shows ripe citrus, lychee, and white floral notes, supported by a fine mineral line. Aged on lees (sobre lias), it develops extra texture and subtle complexity while maintaining a vibrant backbone of acidity. There is a gentle savoury edge that adds depth, leading to a smooth, persistent finish.

Monção e Melgaço is known for producing more serious, age-worthy expressions of Alvarinho, and this Reserva reflects that style well. Balanced and expressive, it works beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, roast poultry, and creamy cheeses, where its freshness and structure shine through.

The winery writes "Citrine color with greenish nuances. The aroma expresses a lot of complexity and freshness with some fennel notes. The taste is also quite complex with good structure and well integrated acidity. A long longevity is to be expected."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
