Tasting Notes

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Immensely complex and gratifying, the wine shows perfumed aromas of dark cherry, warm spice and earthy mushroom on the nose with nuances of game, vanilla and cedar. It’s impressively concentrated and persistent on the palate, displaying sumptuous mouthfeel and plush texture, while remaining classically structured and refined. At its best: now to 2030."
David Walker Bell, Wine Folio writes "An iron-earth, peaty, dried-herb layer sits alongside the pure, rich fruit, amid a cocooning texture. Acidity is vibrant and offset by svelte, complex tannins – everything seems to have its counterpart and balance. Powerful. Towards the sumptuous finish is a sense of coming together, as the elements converge and branch out further."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "A completely delicious wine. Everything about the bouquet and palate is Pegasus Bay through and through. From the dark cherry and gently spiced plum, to the signature of chalky limestone soil and stone ideas this is a complete wine. Polished, long-chain integrating tannins, the acid line carries flavour and texture throughout the palate and brings together a length and definitively youthful finish. Well made, integrating nicely with best drinking from day of purchase through 2034."
The winery writes "It is deep ruby in colour, with a complex and compelling boquetfull of pomegranate, cherry, vanilla, chocolate and spice. There is also a pleasing savouriness, off ering up notes of game, mushroom and thyme. The palate is concentrated and rich, with fi ne grained tannins that add textureand weight. Complementing this is a core of refreshing minerality that gives the wine a lively tension, resulting in superbstrucutre and length. While ready to drink on release it can be expected to cellar well and evolve gracefully for many years."
