Maude Central Otago Pinot Noir 2025

Maude Wines is a family-owned wine company producing premium Pinot Noir from their winery in Wānaka, Central Otago. Winemaking couple Dan and Sarah-Kate Dineen brought together more than two decades of high-profile international winemaking experience before returning to Central Otago. Part of the motivation was the eternal search for the holy grail of winemaking – Pinot Noir perfection – and the opportunity to join forces with Sarah-Kate's parents, Dawn and Dr Terry Wilson, who established the Mount Maude vineyard in the Maungawera Valley just outside Wānaka.

The 2025 is another seriously impressive release, showing plenty of the depth and character we've come to expect from Maude. Dark cherry and wild blackberry lead the way, with savoury bramble and subtle smoky notes adding complexity. The palate is concentrated and beautifully composed, with fine, graphite-like tannins providing structure around the generous dark fruit. There's richness here, but also freshness and finesse, carrying everything through to a long, savoury finish.

A beautifully put-together Central Otago Pinot Noir from one of the region's most consistently impressive producers. Pinot perfection indeed.
