Cameron Douglas MS writes "A deep red hues core with a ruby rim leads to a bouquet of dark cherry and black currant, there’s a mix of earth and spice, mushroom and vanilla, clove and violet. On the palate there’s some tautness and firmness from tannins and acidity then a core of fruit reflecting the bouquet offers contrast and mid-palate richness. A dry wine with a mix of textures and varietal flavours, a touch of pepper, dried herb and aged- meat ideas, length and readiness. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2027+"

The winery writes "Dark red and purple tones, with black cherries, florals and spice with red berries. Deep liquorice with dried herbs and classic cracked pepper notes unique to Hawke's Bay."
