The 2025 Maté’s Vineyard Chardonnay comes from a small but beautifully formed vintage and once again demonstrates just why this wine is held in such high regard. There is impressive depth and concentration, with layers of ripe citrus and stonefruit complemented by savoury, mineral complexity and beautifully integrated oak. Richness is matched by precision and freshness, giving the wine wonderful energy, structure and an exceptionally long, composed finish.

For all its pedigree and power, Maté’s has a wonderful ability to be approachable in its youth. There is generosity and completeness from the outset, but beneath that immediate appeal lies the structure and balance required for serious ageing. The winery writes "The 2025 vintage for Mate’s Vineyard continues the exceptional level of quality from this 35-year-old vineyard. The resulting wine shows the density, concentration, and length that we expect from a terrific Mate’s Vineyard vintage and this year we see an extra crisp lemon acidity. Although still somewhat shy on the nose, with bottle age the full palette of complex aromas and bouquet of this wonderful wine will be gradually and seductively revealed."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
