The Jim Barry Lodge Hill Shiraz 2022 has been making quite an impression on wine show judges, and it's not hard to understand why. This is seriously classy Clare Valley Shiraz, delivering all the rich fruit, spice and complexity you'd expect from a much more expensive bottle. A cracking wine with the accolades to back it up!

The Jim Barry name needs little introduction to lovers of great Australian red wine. The family has been producing exceptional wines in the Clare Valley for generations, and their Lodge Hill vineyard is something of a jewel in the crown. Its elevated position and cooler growing conditions produce Shiraz with wonderful concentration, freshness and character.

And what a delicious wine this 2022 release is! Expect generous layers of ripe blackberry, dark plum and juicy blueberry fruit, complemented by fragrant violets, cracked black pepper and beautifully integrated French oak spice. There's plenty of richness and depth on the palate, with fine, silky tannins and a lovely savoury edge keeping everything beautifully balanced. Powerful without being heavy, wonderfully smooth and packed with flavour.
