A lovely regional blend of old vine Grenache and Tempranillo from top Spanish producer Bodegas Aragonesas. This is such an easy-drinking, silky smooth style with loads of juicy fruit weight and soft, supple tannins. Totally delicious wine at a brilliant price. Highly recommended.

Don Ramón has been a hugely reliable Spanish red for years, and it’s easy to see why. The 2023 is packed with ripe blackberry, plum and dark cherry fruit, with touches of spice and savoury complexity adding plenty of interest. There’s good richness through the palate without ever becoming heavy, while the old vine Grenache brings generosity and warmth and Tempranillo adds structure and freshness.

Smooth, generous and immediately approachable, this is exactly the sort of red that disappears remarkably quickly once the bottle is open. A terrific all-rounder for pizza, pasta, grilled meats or simply a generous glass on its own.

Tasting Notes

The winery writes "Deep ruby red with hints of violet. Mature fruity notes on the nose with hints of spice and balsamic from its aging. On the palate, this Oak Aged mix of Garnacha and Tempranillo grape varieties is soft and well-structured with a long lasting aftertaste."

N.B. Deliveries to Great Barrier Island must be collected from the wharf (No deliveries to individual addresses)

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
