A truly distinctive Italian dessert wine, Visner combines luscious sweetness with remarkable freshness and complexity. One sip is all it takes to understand why this style has such a devoted following.

The aroma of this unique dessert wine has been described as 'Christmas in a bottle'. Visner is made by macerating wild sour cherries in a 50/50 blend of sangiovese and montepulciano from the previous vintage - with the addition of sugar and a small percentage of crushed cherry kernels. This quirky mixture re-ferments, and is then filtered and bottled. 

It pairs incredibly well with all almond-based or chocolate desserts and is much loved in Italy as a Christmas dessert wine or delicious digestif.

Deep ruby red in the glass, this traditional Marche dessert wine bursts with aromas of sour cherries, black cherry compote and a hint of wild herbs. The palate is rich and velvety, balancing luscious cherry fruit with vibrant acidity and a subtle, pleasantly bitter cherry-kernel note that keeps the finish long, fresh and remarkably moreish.

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
