Chateau Garage is the exciting small-batch project of Ollie Powrie, former Head Viticulturist for Villa Maria and a well-known character on the Hawke's Bay wine scene. Few people have the grower contacts that Ollie does, so Chateau Garage was always going to be blessed with some seriously good fruit. Now firmly established among Hawke's Bay's most exciting boutique producers, Ollie's wines continue to attract plenty of attention from wine reviewers and wine lovers alike. And deservedly so!

We thought this new release sauvignon blanc was a seriously delicious drop when we tasted it! A brilliant expression of Hawke's Bay Sauvignon that offers something quite different to the punchy, intensely aromatic styles coming out of Marlborough. More restrained, beautifully balanced and with lovely texture and complexity. There's plenty to like here.

Crafted from organically grown fruit from the Osawa vineyard on the ancient Mangatahi Terraces, the wine was fermented in a combination of oak and stainless steel before spending six months on lees. Delicate aromas of peach, white flowers and fine herbs lead to a vibrant palate of citrus, subtle sea salt and a gentle touch of cedar. Fresh, elegant and wonderfully balanced, with plenty of flavour without being overpowering.

The winery writes "Organic Sauvignon Blanc grown on the Mangatahi Terrace. Fermented in oak and stainless steel tank, aged on lees for 6 months. Delicate aromas of peach, white flowers and fine herbs lead to a vibrant palate with citrus, sea salt and cedar."

N.B. Deliveries to Great Barrier Island must be collected from the wharf (No deliveries to individual addresses)

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
