Chateau Garage is the exciting small batch project of Ollie Powrie - former Head Viticulturist for Villa Maria and well known character on the Hawke's Bay wine scene. Few people have such impeccable grower contacts as Ollie so Chateau Garage was always going to be blessed with great fruit! Now firmly established among Hawke’s Bay’s most exciting boutique producers, Chateau Garage has recently caught wine reviewer James Suckling's attention, a testament to the quality and consistency Ollie has built into every release.

Amphora 2024 is quality, super small-batch cabernet sauvignon under wax-seal showing classic Hawke's Bay Cabernet characters - underlying herbal and tobacco notes balanced with cherry and raspberry flavours. With a solid cellar potential ahead of it, this will develop even further over the coming 15 years.

immediately captivating - a dark, brooding mix of blackcurrant, bramble, and plum, layered with savoury hints of graphite, dried herbs, and warm spice. On the palate, it’s rich and mouthfilling, yet finely structured, with grainy tannins framing a core of pure, concentrated black fruit. Extended skin contact brings a textural, almost tactile quality, silken yet firm, and a persistent, mineral-tinged finish that lingers long after each sip.

A change to the licencing laws means we can no longer advertise discounts on our website that show savings of 25% or more off the recommended retail product price. Spend $450 or more in a single order, and freight drops to $4.99 per dozen (rural surcharges still apply). This does not apply to Outer NZ Deliveries listed below.

Outer Islands (Waiheke Island, Stewart Island etc) 
Freight is $49.99 per case of 12 (or part case).
N.B. Deliveries to Great Barrier Island must be collected from the wharf (No deliveries to individual addresses)

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
