GOLD MEDAL | NZIWS 2024
92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS

Named after the Catalina flying boats that once graced Marlborough’s skies, this 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is classic Marlborough energy with just enough polish to stand out from the crowd. Bursting with citrus, passionfruit and a hint of tropicals, it’s got that zippy freshness we all love - with a little extra magic layered in. A gentle lick of neutral oak brings extra texture and a smooth, savoury twist that takes it up a notch.

It’s vibrant, it’s layered, and it’s dangerously drinkable. Perfect with anything from fresh fish tacos to a sunny afternoon on the deck, this one’s built for good times.

Tasting Notes

London Wine Competition judges write"Zesty and vibrant with crunchy green flavours and crisp acidity, this Sauvignon Blanc shines with its bright, refreshing style perfect for sunny days and light seafood dishes."
Cameron Douglas MS writes"Pungent, fruity, tropical and intense with a bouquet and palate filled with flavours of passion fruit and fresh herb, red bell-pepper and gooseberry flesh. Firm and dry with just a light tickle of residual sweetness, this is more than contrasted by the backbone of acidity. Youthful and tense, salivating and dry, a wine that is ready to drink from 2024 through 2027."
Stephen Wong MW writes"Herbaceous and tropical at the same time with aromas of green papaya and bay leaf. The mid-weight palate bursts with flavour upfront before tapering down to a saline, tight and refreshing, dry finish with grainy phenolics. The clean fruit and herb flavours are long and crisp."
The winery writes"Preserved citrus, elderflower, subtle tropical fruit and a touch of Jalapeño create enticing aromatics. Beautiful intensity of flavour from start to finish, with crisp and juicy minerality threaded together with a fine line of texture."
