This is an exciting, full-throttle Californian blend from one of our top-selling American producers. Built around Petite Sirah (58%) and Zinfandel (39%), with small additions of Teroldego and Syrah, the 2021 Heritage Red delivers serious palate weight, concentration and loads of spicy dark fruit.

Petite Sirah provides the backbone, bringing rich blackberry fruit, deep colour and firm structure, while Zinfandel adds ripe plum, raspberry and peppery spice. Small additions of Teroldego and Syrah bring another layer of dark-fruited intensity and freshness, while 27 months in American oak adds warm toasted spice and a subtle mocha character.

Rich, powerful and unmistakably Californian, this is one for anyone who loves big Zinfandel and generously proportioned reds. Highly recommended.

The winery writes "Intriguing, beguiling…this mysterious apparition of ripe berry and relentless spice returns to haunt wine lovers. Enveloped in shadow, this wine’s intensity and concentration will entice you with every sip. Full-bodied and jammy, Phantom’s origins of Petite Sirah and Zinfandel emerge from the glass. Spicy pepper and juniper tantalize your senses, while black plums and blueberries emerge on the palate. Notes of pipe tobacco and clove settle around the finish, long and lingering, like the Delta fog."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
