This vibrant Sicilian white is everything we love about island wines: fresh, lively, and full of character. Made from 100% Grillo (a local grape that’s a cross between Catarratto and Zibibbo), Cavallo delle Fate shows off the sunny charm of Sicily with a cool, mineral edge thanks to the higher-altitude vineyards at the estate.

Think crisp green apple, zesty citrus, and a touch of salty sea breeze, all wrapped up in a clean, chalky finish. It’s fermented and aged in stainless steel to keep things bright and pure.

No oak here, just straight-up freshness.

James Suckling writes "A juicy, vivid and attractive grillo with notes of sliced apples, dried pears and warm herbs on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Plenty of juicy character with a precise finish. Drink or hold."
Eric Guido writes "The 2023 Grillo Cavallo delle Fate is perfumed in the glass with a pretty blend of mint leaves, candied lime, chamomile and sweet smoke. It's silky-smooth yet lifted and finessed. Crisp orchard fruits and hints of sour melon are guided by brisk acidity. It leaves the palate perfectly refreshed with a crunchy staining of minerality and a chalky sensation that slowly fades. This possesses a wonderful cool-toned character imparted by the elevations and microclimate of the Regaleali estate."

N.B. Deliveries to Great Barrier Island must be collected from the wharf (No deliveries to individual addresses)

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
