A fine example of medium-bodied Chateauneuf du Pape. 2022 was a good vintage and those ideal growing conditions have brought layers of juicy, dark grenache (80% of the blend) into play with layers of anise, tobacco leaf and spice adding complexity and interest. Tannins are soft and quite rounded. The finish is long and persistent with a delightful mineral line and some fresh, creamy acidity.

Tasting Notes

A classic expression of grenache dominant Chateauneuf du Pape. Medium bodied with a strong ruby red hue and a beautiful shine. Very fine on the nose with superb black fruit and spicy notes. Delightful and intense on the palate, with lovely balance and great elegance, from the moment it is bottled.
The winery writes "Deep purple hue with blueish tinges. The nose opens up with a combination of black cherry, juniper berry, pepper and sweet spice. After a few swirls in the glass, it evolves towards notes of crushed raspberry, cherry, chocolate and subtle notes of dried herbs reminiscent of the scrublands in summer. In its youth this wine is dominated by notes of red and black fruits intertwined with a touch of liquorice and pepper. The tannins are well defined yet velvety smooth and persistent."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
