91/100 | Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review
90/100 | Aaron Brasher, The Real Review

This Barbera is all about balance and drinkability. Bright ruby red with a hint of purple, it opens with juicy aromas of plum, and cherry, plus a little minerality to keep things interesting. On the palate, it’s bold but super fresh, think dark cherry, blackberry, dried plum, and a touch of spice and cedar.

It’s naturally low in tannins but has plenty of acidity, which gives it a smooth, lively feel that works well with food. Aged in a mix of big barrels and smaller barriques, it keeps all that Barbera freshness while adding a bit of polish. Easy to enjoy on its own, but it really shines with pizza, pasta, roast meats, or a good cheese board.

Tasting Notes

Stephen Wong MW writes"Pure, sweet fruited nose of ripe raspberry and boysenberry dusted with icing sugar. The mid-weight palate brings savoury and stony complexity into the mix with just enough juicy acidity to lift and refresh the palate without tartness. A forward, concentrated and accessible barbera which has a sunny disposition and clear, bright fruit expression. Some additional complexity will emerge in the near-term if cellared but it is already delicious right now"
Aaron Brasher writes "A youthful and plummy dark red in the glass. Complex aromas of satsuma plum, dark cherry, dried herbs, bramble, wet concrete and underbrush. Juicy and punchy on the palate, with sour cherry, satsuma plum, briar and tangy, cranberry like acidity on the finish. Firm, layered and textured"
