Monte Christo’s story begins in 1864, when French pioneer Jean Désiré Féraud settled in Central Otago’s Alexandra Basin after finding success during the gold rush. Recognising the region’s potential, he established the Monte Christo homestead and helped lay the foundations for Central Otago’s future as a renowned wine-growing region. Today, Monte Christo continues that pioneering legacy, crafting wines that reflect the character and beauty of the land.

Sourced from Monte Christo's Proprietors Vineyard in the Pisa sub-region of Central Otago, this riesling is a bright, beautifully balanced drop with plenty to love. Lifted aromas of lime blossom, citrus and white florals lead into a vibrant palate of lemon, green apple and mandarin. Dry in style, with crisp natural acidity and impressive focus, the wine is fresh, expressive and beautifully balanced, finishing long and refreshing.

Candice Chow writes "This Riesling has a concentrated, weighty palate carrying zesty, invigorating acidity and flinty minerals, along with rich floral notes, lending a complex, dry, extended finish."
Cameron Douglas MS writes"Varietal, crisp and textured. Aromas and flavours of lime peel and lemon, fresh red and green apple, a whisper of pineapple and mineral foundation. Flavours are persistent with backbone of acidity and freshness, salivating and dry with a course silky-mouthfeel. Well made with best drinking from 2027 through 2033+."
The winery writes "Dry, light, refreshing and very aromatic with notes of lemon, lime, white peach, yellow apple, jasmine and citrus blossom."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
