The Wirra Wirra Catapult Shiraz 2023 is a bold yet beautifully balanced McLaren Vale Shiraz from one of Australia’s most respected producers. Rich dark plum and blackberry flavours are layered with spice and subtle oak, leading to a smooth, generous palate and a long, satisfying finish.

The name Catapult pays tribute to Wirra Wirra’s historic cricket pitch, famous for its unpredictable “catapult wicket” that could launch the ball sharply at unsuspecting batsmen. Just like its namesake, this Shiraz delivers impact and intensity.

Stuart Knox writes "Rich ruby with a full purple tint at the rim. Mulberry and mocha aromatics. Dense and powerful but doesn’t overbear the palate. Ripe blue fruits, dusty earth and mocha notes are all in harmony. Tannins are quite gravelly, ensuring there’s a contrasting tension to the fruit's generosity. Flows long and finishes with a bone-dry crunch. A lot of bang for buck and will offer cellaring rewards."
Ned Goodwin MW writes“A generous, full bodied shiraz. Defined by exuberant aromas of lilacs, iodine and purplefruit set in relief against a deftly hewn tannic stucture with hints of licorice and a ripple ofmaritime freshness. Pepper and clove notes grown in intensity as the tannins compressand release flavour in incremental bursts. A warmer climatic expression with a complexcool aura."
The winery writes "Crimson with a bright purple hue. Bright mulberry and raspberry with a lovely nutmeg and allspice layer. The palate is dense with vibrant fleshy blue fruits and mulberry compote and a background of baking spices. Refined cocoa powder tannins finish off the wine with style."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
