Granted 'Cru' appellation status in 2016, Cairanne produces wines of the highest quality and reflect the natural blessings of the terroir. Crafted from low-yielding vines, this impressive Rhône blend brings together grenache noir, syrah, mourvèdre, and carignan. Each variety was matured for around 22 months in French oak before blending, creating a wine of remarkable depth, richness, and complexity.

The nose is intensely aromatic, revealing layers of Morello cherry, dark red berries, and warming cinnamon spice. On the palate, opulent dark plum fruit is complemented by notes of liquorice, dark chocolate, and a subtle hint of black tea. Full-bodied and beautifully smooth, supple tannins provide structure while maintaining an elegant, refined texture. A rich and savoury wine that rewards time in the glass, Le Cote Sauvage unfolds with increasing finesse and sophistication, delivering a deeply satisfying expression of Cairanne.

The winery writes "A serious, opulent and complex example of cru Cairanne. This is rich, intense and drenched in darkred fruits. With morello cherry and a touch of cinnamon spice on the nose, soft dark plummy fruit,liquorice, chocolate, a hint of black tea on the palate, this wine is full flavoured and smooth withsupple tannins. A rich, savoury satisfying mouthful that shows greater elegance with air."

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
