Oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc from one of the Loire Valley’s great producers, Pascal Jolivet’s Pouilly-Fumé is a seriously classy expression of Sauvignon Blanc and a world away from the big, overtly fruity styles you might be used to.

The 2021 is vibrant and beautifully focused, opening with citrus, green apple and subtle stone fruit alongside the flinty, mineral character that is such a hallmark of good Pouilly-Fumé. Time in oak adds texture and complexity rather than obvious woody flavour, giving the wine extra weight and breadth through the palate.

Medium-bodied, dry and incredibly precise, there’s a lovely tension between the fruit, subtle savoury notes and clean, driving acidity. It feels layered and composed, with a long, mineral finish that keeps everything fresh and leaves you wanting another glass.

Classic Loire Sauvignon with plenty of pedigree. If you’ve never ventured into Pouilly-Fumé before, this is a very good place to start.

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
