Falconhead has been a favourite with the Advintage Faithful for years, and it comes with some serious Hawke’s Bay pedigree. It’s made by the winemaking team behind the Morton Estate juggernaut before that famous brand was sold to international buyers, and they certainly know their way around a good chardonnay.

Ripe Hawke’s Bay stonefruit leads the charge, backed by creamy texture, good palate weight and a gentle lick of oak. It’s mouthfilling, generous and loaded with flavour, but still has enough freshness to keep everything nicely in check.

Fruit was sourced from three Hawke's Bay vineyards – Riverview, Tantallon and Kinross – with a combination of barrel and tank fermentation used to strike the perfect balance between richness, oak complexity and fresh acidity. A selection of Chardonnay-specific yeasts and time maturing in barrel have added further layers of flavour and texture. The result is a beautifully rounded, generous chardonnay that's drinking superbly now.

Finding chardonnay with this much personality at this sort of money is becoming increasingly difficult. If you like your chardonnay weighty, creamy and full of flavour, Falconhead seriously over-delivers for the price. Brilliant value - and absolutely worth loading up on.

The winery writes "Fresh peach, nectarine, and baked apple aromas complement a satin textured palate with roasted nut and stone fruit flavours accompanied by a layer of toasty oak."

N.B. Deliveries to Great Barrier Island must be collected from the wharf (No deliveries to individual addresses)

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
