Little Forager Pinot Noir 2023 is the inaugural release of this small-batch North Canterbury Pinot Noir, crafted by acclaimed winemaker Dom Maxwell. Inspired by the Village wines of Burgundy, the wine was sourced from three carefully selected North Canterbury vineyards and made with a hands-on, minimal intervention approach. As previous winemaker at Greystone, Dom knows this patch of New Zealand like the back of his hand.

Naturally fermented, hand plunged, and matured in French oak barrels for 12 months, this pinot noir shows purity, texture, and a true expression of place. Aromas of wild raspberry, dark cherry, dried herbs, and subtle spice lead into a supple, savoury palate layered with fine tannins and earthy complexity. A portion of whole bunch fermentation adds freshness and lift, while careful oak ageing brings depth and elegance without overpowering the fruit. Bottled unfined and produced in very limited quantities.

A beautifully expressive North Canterbury Pinot Noir, offering aromas of wild raspberry, dark cherry, dried herbs, and subtle spice. The palate is supple and textural, with layers of red berry fruit, savoury earthiness, and fine tannins woven through a silky, elegant finish. A touch of whole bunch fermentation adds lift and complexity, while restrained French oak keeps the wine fresh, balanced, and incredibly drinkable. Charming now, with enough structure to reward short-term cellaring.

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
