This enticing blend of Hawke's Bay Merlot, Syrah, Malbec and Tempranillo is another stellar effort from Elephant Hill. The 2023 is an immediately attractive wine with upfront juiciness and glossy, dark fruit characters that reveal layers of spice and complexity as the wine opens in the glass. Showing a full and more concentrated palate with grip and creamy acidity on the finish, this is a classic Hawke's Bay Red through and through.

This lovely wine is already in superb form but will blossom over the coming 6 - 8 years should you chose to lay some down.

Vinted from a blend of 44% merlot, 42% syrah, 13% malbec and 1% tempranillo.
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Delightfully fruited and inviting, the wine shows sweet cherry, dark plum, rich floral, clove and roasted nut aromas on the nose, followed by a silky-smooth palate delivering plump mouthfeel combined with silky texture and polished tannins. Attractively composed with a lengthy, elegant finish."
Cameron Douglas MS writes "Immediately enticing bouquet and palate filled with flavours of spicy plum skin and flesh, black berry and some black currant, there's a layer of cocoa and baking spices reflecting some oak and toasty barrel. Polished tannins and acidity frame the core fruit and spice flavours perfectly."

N.B. Deliveries to Great Barrier Island must be collected from the wharf (No deliveries to individual addresses)

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
