Redmetal have long been one of our favourite Hawke's Bay producers and over the years we have developed a monster following for their graceful red wines. This merlot dominant blend with 17% cabernet franc has always been our best seller from their range and the 2025 is another excellent release, and a label update adds another layer of class to this much-loved wine.

In true Redmetal style, this is a softly generous blend that clearly over-delivers on this price point, vinted in a middleweight style.

This is serious, thoughtful wine at a sensible price - a soft, approachable and food-friendly release from celebrated owner / winemaker Grant Edmonds. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Tasting Notes

The winery writes "Medium to dark red/purple in colour with plenty of ripe plum and blackberry flavours with soft tannins and very good length. 17% Cabernet Franc in the blend provides a lot of that purple hue as well as some tannin structure and berry aromatics. Another classic food-friendly style that will reward cellaring for up to 5-8 years."

Spend $450 or more in a single order, and freight drops to $4.99 per dozen (rural surcharges still apply). This does not apply to Outer NZ Deliveries listed below.

Outer Islands (Waiheke Island, Stewart Island etc) 
Freight is $49.99 per case of 12 (or part case).
N.B. Deliveries to Great Barrier Island must be collected from the wharf (No deliveries to individual addresses)

As long as we receive your order before 2.00pm, in most cases your order will be delivered in one - two days if you live in mainland non-rural North Island. Friday orders will be delivered the following Monday. Rural or South Island deliveries take a day or two longer.
