91/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit - "Succulent palate displaying rounded mouthfeel and elegant sweetness"
RECOMMENDED | Cameron Douglas MS

Here's a crowd-pleasing white with charm, texture and brightness. If you love whites with a little something extra, this Loire Valley gem delivers in spades. Crafted from chenin blanc and sourced from select vineyard parcels, it strikes that irresistible balance between juicy fruit and a whisper of sweetness. Effortlessly elegant, seriously drinkable, and just a little bit indulgent.

Barton & Guestier, France’s oldest wine house, has been taking wine lovers on a voyage of discovery for over three centuries, and in 2024, the winery proudly celebrated its 300th anniversary, earning the prestigious title of European Winery of the Year from Wine Enthusiast.

Tasting Notes

Cameron Douglas MS writes "A lively, fruity, off-dry expression with aromas and flavours of apple and apricot nectar, some fine wet chalk mineral qualities, apple flesh, white peach and a whisper of spice. Medium acid line and balanced even finish. The is a very easy drinking expression with a core of fruit and gentle sweetness that will suit most moderately spiced fare. I found the best service temperature to be around 10 Celsius, but cooler temps for summer service also ideal."
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Beautifully fruited and fragrant on the nose showing golden apple, grilled peach, honey and warm spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate displaying rounded mouthfeel and elegant sweetness. Delightfully framed by juicy acidity, offering lovely drinking. Style: Medium-dry. At its best: now to 2030."
The winery writes "Pale straw with green highlights. Fruit driven with lovely aromas of white fruits (peach, pineapple, carambola), as well as delicate flinty notes. Good balance between fruit and flinty. A nice and refreshing finish."
