98/100 & Special Value Wine | Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
FIVE STARS 95/100 | Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review
Another stellar Virgilius from the world's finest producer of this exotic varietal. Plush and textural in your mouth this wonderful wine opens up on the palate to show layers of delicately spiced tropical fruits and tangy ripe citrus on the finish. Another viognier masterclass from Yalumba. Bravo.

Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review writes "A whirl of aromas—peach, nectarine, honey, almond and spices—leads into a pleasing palate with breadth. It’s intense and dense, yet there’s lightness in its delivery. Flavours of brioche and crème caramel join in, thanks to judicious use of oak."
Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion writes "Widely considered to be Australia’s finest viognier from the stellar 2021 Eden Valley vintage. This is a very good confluence of events! As per usual, it is singing straight out of the bottle, showing all the characters that we have come to expect from this wine. Pristine stone and citrus fruits, the pitch-perfect textural components and savoury nuance. What is apparent, for a great year, is the shimmering acidity, precision, detail and clarity; all cranked up a notch with this release and the wine’s energy and drive are spot on. There’s been a pretty good run of vintages in this neck of the woods recently but this is the best Virgilius I have seen thus far."
