Saorsa (the feminine for freedom, salvation and liberty in Gaelic) is a super small batch wine producer based in Hawke's Bay, with each family member chipping in to make these lovingly crafted, handmade wines. It's the perfect winemaking partnership, with husband Alex bringing his years of experience in the vineyard and cellar to the winemaking and wife Hana combining this with her expertise as a qualified stainless steel engineer. 

Saorsa choose fruit from exceptional vineyard sites and use traditional techniques to create wines of great balance and texture that are experessive of their origins. This rich viognier is textural and luscious, with rich flavours of stone fruits, crème brûlée and baking spices. A truly gorgeous artisanal wine. 

Though Saorsa sustained considerable damage during Cyclone Gabrielle, they have dedicated their time and have been at the forefront of fundraising in the local community to support others who were affected. Now, more than ever, is a great time to support small producers in Hawke's Bay.
