95/100 | Stephen Wong MW - "This will give years of enjoyment."
Deliciously crisp and dry, this mouth watering riesling from Mount Difficulty sings with notes of granny smith apple, kaffir lime and citrus blossom. It brings to the table all the finesse and elegance we've come to expect from Central Otago Riesling. Whilst it's drinking delightfully now, it could easily cellar for ten to fifteen years. Simply sublime.
Vegan and vegetarian friendly.

Stephen Wong MW writes "Pale white-gold colour. Vivid nose with strong aromas of juicy calamansi, musk, sweet herb and funky wild-ferment complexity. The palate enters with a sliver of stone-fruit, possessing ample weight on the dry, broad and generous palate with delicious concentration of fruit, spice and some nicely chewy phenolics to cinch in the fleshy, juicy flavours. Linear, long and innately complex though unevolved at present, this will give years of enjoyment."
The winery writes "Intense and aromatic lemon, lime and mandarin dominate on the nose of Mt Difficulty Bannockburn Dry Riesling 2023, hinting at the warmer season. Bright citrus opens the palate with a definite minerality, redolent of the schist-based soils on which it was grown. The palate is built around the taught acid line which travels from the front through to the finish. This sets the wine up for aging well into the future."
Cellar for 10 to 15 years from vintage.
