Wildsong is the exciting new range from winemaker Rod McDonald and the Te Awanga Estate team. The range focuses on finely crafted wines that are 'Grown with respect, made with heart and packed with attitude' and has been a smash hit overseas so we're thrilled to have the range in store.
Their 2022 Hawke's Bay Pinot Gris is in stunning form. Fruit was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed before extended lees ageing and stirring. This has resulted in a lush, textural wine that's just off-dry and carries those classic pear and apple notes and a touch of spice. Absolutely delicious.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Fruit expressive and fragrant, the wine shows apricot, poached pear, ginger spice and rich floral aromas on the nose, followed by a succulent palate displaying fleshy texture and juicy acidity, offering terrific drinking."
NZ Wine Rater writes "Attractive, lifted, floral nose with aromas of nashi pear, yellow plum, white flowers and baking spice. Clean, dry, drinkable wine with fresh acidity. A sound, fruity commercial style for early consumption.”
The winery writes "Lychee, ripe stonefruit and quince with a hint of sherbet on the nose. Beautifully textured with lychee and peach, with a floral hint on the palate. Bright and vibrant with a long fine acidity and a peach skin finish."
