94 POINTS | Bob Campbell MW "Lovely purity and should age well."
Margrain have a long history of working with chenin blanc, and celebrated winemaker Strat Canning has nailed the 'Margrain style' with this tangy 2020 release. Fresh and zingy on the attack, it softens in the mid-palate when some sweeter green apple and riper citrus notes join the conversation. Those immediately attractive, juicier notes broaden out the flavour base and, in our book, this is a text book example of modern New Zealand, off dry chenin blanc. Recommended.

Bob Campbell MW writes "Quite an aromatic, floral chenin blanc with grapefruit, green apple, melon and lime juice. An initial suggestion of sweetness is balanced by tangy acidity to give the wine a medium-dry finish and good sweet-and-acid tension. Lovely purity and should age well."
