18.5/20 | Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
4.5 STARS | Michael Cooper
We have great admiration for Starborough's small but perfectly formed portfolio and this 2022 Chardonnay release is another banger from this proven performer. Sam Kim's glowing review sums up this wine perfectly - it's gorgeously fruited and complex with excellent palate weight, finishing with a nice line of acidity. Aged in oak barrels, this is proper, full-bodied, concentrated chardonnay that is brimming with hallmark characters of ripe citrus, hazlenut and toasty oak. We know you won't be disappointed.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Gorgeously fruity and complex, the enticing bouquet shows golden peach, mango, vanillin oak and brioche characters. The palate delivers excellent weight and plush mouthfeel, wonderfully complemented by creamy texture and beautifully infused acidity. Generous and flavoursome, while remaining refined and harmonious.".
The winery writes "A full and concentrated chardonnay with complex flavours of ripe citrus and yellow stone fruits. The textures are fine and the flavours are mouthfilling with a strong core that carries to a full, citrus and nutty finish with lemon-curd and toasty oak."
David Walker Bell, Wine Folio writes "Scented with aromas of nectarine, lemon curd, grapefruit, cashew nut, smoky spice and orange blossom. Full-bodied, opulent and energetic, with an artful balance of sweet fruit, toasty oak, zesty acidity but also a stony minerality running through the palate. Complex and broad, there are layers of baking spice, peppery herbal notes, and a soft, creamy texture to discover as the wine heads to a dry, lengthy finish."
