OLD VINE, REDUCTIVE NELSON CHARDONNAY
FIVE STARS 94/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit - "Richly textured and flavoursome with a lengthy refined finish."
Gorgeous expression of old vine, classic Nelson Chardonnay from Mendoza clones averaging 30 years old. On the palate there's seductive notes of ripe stone fruits, peach and lemon zest, typical of proper, good quality Nelson Chardonnay. Aging in puncheon and barrels has added complexity and roundness with hints of flinty reduction. Enjoy alongside roast chicken with creamy rich sauce for a delectable experience. Expect to be impressed.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Complex and enticing, the bouquet shows ripe stone fruit, lemon zest, vanilla and almond meal aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate offering excellent focus and persistency. Richly textured and flavoursome with a lengthy refined finish."
The winery writes "This is a deliciously structured Chardonnay with bright generous fruit, a powerful breadth in the palate. Muscular, bold and pleasing its a proper glass of what is arguably New Zealand's, let alone Nelson's most exciting variety."
