Askerne Tere Syrah 2019

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Showing fabulous fruit purity and perfume, the inviting bouquet shows sweet plum, mulberry, cedar and floral aromas with nuances of anise and pepper spice. The palate is wonderfully weighted and beautifully rounded, displaying fleshy texture and polished tannins, leading to a beautifully long expansive finish."

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Aromas of toasty baked spices and ripe blue fruits, blackcurrant, dried raspberry and violets. Complex, intense and inviting. On the palate - equally toasty and intense with flavours of white pepper and dry stone, blackcurrant and raspberry. Firm tannins with a fine polish and dusty chalky texture, plenty of acidity and floral charm add to the mouthfeel, length and finish."

David Walker Bell, WineFolio writes "An inky, impenetrable dark shade of red in the glass. Perfumed with appetising dark fruits – cherry, black doris plum, liquorice, date and vanilla pod. Structured and quite tight with some sinewy tannin and a current of acidity that’s still finding their balance. Saturated palate that drips with ripe dark fruit and then notes of Campari, cola and cardamom, dried lime, with a little white pepper. A juicy succulence to the long, flowing finish."

The winery writes "Dark red, purple hues. Amazing dark berry fruit in the raspberry black currant spectrum.  The spice notes of Syrah are to the fore in this wine with a white pepper and Chinese five spice.  As is our style, the fruit was aged in oak to accentuate the savoury notes and introduce aromas of vanilla and toast. The palate is especially vibrant with a line of acidity knitting the fleshiness and structural components together.  Excellent concentration and vibrancy with a long finish."
