GOLD MEDAL | Mundus Vini
Ruffino was the first to invest in the Chianti Classico region with three estates and more than 167 hectares within the appellation. With the first vintage of Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico dating back to 1927, it's one of the few wines in the world that can use "riserva" in its name.
Made from a blend of 80% sangiovese and 20% merlot, cabernet sauvignon and other grapes, it's an absolutely gorgeous wine. The dominant sangiovese component gives the wine a lovely lick of vibrant acidity, with a long, bold finish.

The winery writes "An elegant bouquet of violets, cherries, wild berries and plums followed by tobacco, clove and eucalyptus nuances. Balanced with delicate tannins, Riserva Ducale has an enduring finish and bold structure."
