Valcanto Syrah has long been a favourite with our Spanish red buyers and we're very excited to have the 2021 vintage finally arrive. It's another outstanding wine imported into New Zealand by leading Spanish wine trader Steve Bennett MW, who calls Bodegas Piqueras "One of the best value producers I’ve discovered in my 29 years in the industry."  

Sound like something very special is going on here? There definitely is. This 2021 wine from Almansa is a dark, opulent beauty with layers of mouthfilling, silken dark fruits and spicy oak complexity. Kiwi Syrah delivering this sort of concentration and depth would be $35+ and after one taste you will be agreeing with that assessment 100%.  Valcanto is a pure, intense, elegant expression of Syrah with delicious, natural acidity and is aged in fine-grained 300l American oak hogsheads for 6 months to give a gentle, creamy texture.
