91/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit - "Attractively ripe and inviting"
Poggio Anima unashamedly call themselves the kings of the 'week night wine' and creating wines for 'drinking not thinking" has been the key to their success. This 2017 release is lovely expression of Nero d'Avola that showcases the dark fruits of this popular varietal. This is a plush style with a juicy array of ripe fruits. Very approachable and easy to enjoy.

Sam Kim writes "Attractively ripe and inviting, the bouquet shows sweet cherry, dried herb, game and toasted almond notes, followed by a beautifully weighted palate that's juicy and finely textured. Well framed by grainy tannins, finishing long and pleasingly dry."
