No one can deny the quality of Squawking Magpie’s Reserves and the Nest is a knockout in 2014. Plush, rich and velvet smooth with plenty of complexity and charm, The Nest is a glorious premium merlot dominant blend.

86% merlot, 10% malbec and 4% cabernet franc.
The winery writes "Medium deep crimson. Fresh blackcurrant, plum aromas. With dark chocolate, herb garden notes. Slinky textured wine with blackcurrant pastille, praline notes, finely gravelly tannins and mocha, espresso oak. Finishes chocolaty firm with tannin plume."
Cuisine Magazine writes "Great depth and intrigue,” opined John Belsham. Convincing proof of how well merlot can perform on the Gimblett Gravels, this is a complex, classy wine. It bursts on to the palate with real power, scattering tamarillo, tobacco and mocha notes. Bold, quite firm tannins, hold the ship steady. A big wine for a big occasion."
