This stunning 2022 blend of 61% merlot and 39% cabernet franc is structured and savoury wine showing dense plum and cassis flavours on the nose and palate that is further complexed with some herbal and anise characters and layers of oak spice. There is plenty of fine tannin and lots of creamy acidity rounding off the finish.
This wine packs a serious punch and shows significant cellar potential. Though not necessary by any means, it would be an excellent candidate for decanting if you are opening a bottle over the next 18 months. Enjoy over the coming 5-8 years should you chose to lay some down.

A blend of 61% merlot & 39% cabernet franc.
This 2022 blend of merlot and cabernet franc was produced from estate grown fruit in the Esk Valley. Matured in French oak barriques this wine is dominated by lively flavours of plums and black cherry, supported by cassis, coffee beans and subtle dried herbs. Structured and complex with grippy tannins, it has a long dry finish. If you want to take those tannins down a peg, please decant prior to service.
The winery writes "Deep crimson red. Coffee bean and subtle black forest aromas. Flavours of plums and black cherry on the palate. Structured and commplex with a long dry finish."
