McArthur Ridge have cut a track through the award rounds over the last few years and they simply must now feature in any discussion of the best of the Central Otago Pinot Noirs. The quality is evident in every release, and that reputation is sustained with this 2022 rendition.

The 2022 vintage of Southern Tor was awarded Best in Show Pinot Noir at the Decanter World Wine Awards last year, effectively making it the World's Best Pinot Noir, and the most highly sought after wine of 2024. Crafted the same as the all-conquering Southern Tor Pinot but aged in experimental barrels, this wine embodies the essence of their single vineyard soils, seamlessly integrated with a selection of oak. This limited release wine from the same celebrated vintage is expected to follow suit.

It is yet another outstanding example of proper, quality Central Otago Pinot Noir that bursts with flavours of black cherries, smoky oak and gamey characters. Previous purchasers of Southern Tor will be absolutely smitten with the sheer quality this wine offers. We really can't recommend this highly enough.
