Carmenere is traditionally known as the grape of Chile however there are a few pockets of it throughout NZ - and one of those is found on Gisborne's Golden Slopes as part of the Tietjen Witters Estate. It's no secret that we're huge fans of the TW guys and the wines they produce and this robust, seductive red is no different.
The palate is loaded with big dark fruit flavours with delicious spicy notes adding complexity. It's big but not dumb, with rich, ripe notes balanced by perfectly handled acidity and soft tannins. If you're looking for something a little bit different, grab a bottle of this - you won't be disappointed.

The winery writes "The deep garnet hue of thid Camenere hints of the intensity of arome and flavour to come. Complex aromas of ripe black fruits and spice are then discovered in the glass. Flavours of plump Doris plum, fruit cake and black currant are enveloped by the rich velvety palate."
