91/100 | Markus del Monego, Best Sommelier of the World
90/100 | James Suckling
Situated very close to Bordeaux city, on the left bank of the Gironde estuary, Chateau Magnol produces wines that reflect the appellation: powerful and robust. Made from 48% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 12% cabernet franc, Chateau Magnol 2019 is stunning wine that definitely delivers on that front. The palate is full-bodied with nicely framed tannins, blackcurrant/redcurrant flavours, and a spicy aftertaste.

The winery writes "Deep and brilliant cherry red with violet highlight. Expressive, rich and complex nose mixing black berries (blackcurrant, back cherry) and well balanced spicy and minty notes. Harmonious, well balanced full, fine and elegant with ripe tannins. The aftertaste is rich and aromatic (fruity, spicy with vanilla and liquorice notes)."
Markus del Monego writes "Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Well concentrated modern nose with distinct aroma reminiscent of dark chocolate and mild spices, blackcurrants and blackberries. On the palate elegant yet well concentrated with fresh fruit and finely toasted oak. An elegant wine with good aromatic depth and very good length."
