GOLD MEDAL | Concours International de Lyon 2024
92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS - "Plenty of polish and style, balanced and well made."
This charming wine drew instant praise from our tasting team when we looked at an evaluative sample. Rich in ripe merlot, Ch. le Bournac is full-bodied and generously textured. The palate is presented in a really soft and flowing style that is all about those succulent, juicy merlot fruits - and while the finish shows good tannin / acid tension, that silky smooth mouthfeel is the lasting impression here. It's delicious. And we mean truly delicious.
It's such an attractive style that it's a perfect option for Kiwi wine drinkers to further explore the fascinating world of French reds - and those softly expressed fruits and lush mocha flavours are sure to make it a hit with the Advintage Bordeaux faithful. It comes very highly recommended.

Cameron Douglas MS writes "Dark red appearance with a pink rim lead to a bouquet of youth, freshness and varietal signatures of cabernet and Merlot, dark berries and plums, black currant and olive, a soft savoury quality and stony gravel seam. Some firmness as the wine touches the palate with fine chalky tannins, plenty of polish and style, flavours of dark berries and plums, some chocolate and smoky wood tones. Balanced and well made with medium+ length and moderate complexity."
