FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
92/100 'Premium' | Cameron Douglas MS
Easy drinking Hawke's Bay Merlot that pairs perfectly with a wide range of meals. Soft yet the spice of oak aging and a splash of cabernet sauvignon in the mix adds some complexity and delicious smokiness. The previous vintage was the darling at all the award shows, and we expect the 2022 vintage to follow in its footsteps. We are backing this little beauty all the way - and we think you should too.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Sweetly ripe and perfumed, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, rich floral, warm spice and roasted nut aromas, followed by a silky-smooth palate offering succulent fruit flavours with spicy nuances. Beautifully rounded and supple with a lengthy delectable finish."
The winery writes "Chocolate, plum, and blackberry aromas of Merlot have combined with the aromatic spice of oak aging to produce a fruit-dominant yet complex wine. Soft, ripe tannins make this wine serious yet eminently drinkable. It can be enjoyed with a wide range of different foods, particularly lamb and beef."
