Wildsong is the exciting range from winemaker Rod McDonald and the Te Awanga Estate team. The range focuses on finely crafted wines that are 'Grown with respect, made with heart and packed with attitude' and has been a smash hit overseas so we're thrilled to have the range in store.
Their 2022 Hawke's Bay Chardonnay was vinted from fruit from the Mangatahi sub-region and it's a bright and vibrant glass of wine. Ageing on lees has developed texture and complexity and those classic regional stonefruit flavours shine through on the palate. Another excellent wine from this safe set of hands.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "Beautifully styled and inviting, the bouquet shows golden peach, grapefruit, nougat and roasted cashew characters. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and roundness, beautifully complemented by creamy texture and bright acidity."
The winery writes "Punchy stonefruit with lychee and lifted floral notes on the nose. A weighted palate with loads of citrus and baked stonefruit. Floral notes can also be found mid palate with just a hint of toasted nuts. A textural finish that is fresh and sustained. Praise be Hawke’s Bay Chardy!"
