What an absolute bargain! First Flight is Squawking Magpie's entry level range and they've done a superb job at delivering quality wine under the $20 barrier. From the iconic Gimblett Gravels sub-region, this cabernet dominant blend is soft and savoury with subtle oak influence. It's already a lovely glass of Hawke's Bay red but has the potential to age gracefully over the coming 5-6 years.
Bob Campbell deemed the previous vintage Most Heroic Top Value Wine - "A truly heroic red. A commendable 93pt score and has a price-tag that's equivalent to four flat white coffees at my local cafe."
Incredible value with the Advintage Advantage.
