The story behind the name 'Bistro' is interesting in itself and dates back to 1814, when Paris was occupied by Russian soldiers. Prohibited from drinking in bars, the soldiers were served Vodka when they would ask for a "quick drink" (“быстро” or “bistro” in Russian) and so the “Bistrots” were born.
