It has been a staple in the cocktail world since its launch in 1846, created by Parisian chemist and wine merchant Joseph Dubonnet. His goal was to make quinine more enjoyable for soldiers fighting malaria in North Africa. Dubonnet blends fortified wine, a secret herb and spice mixture, and quinine to create a legendary drink renowned for its sophistication.
