With a seriously impressive Gold Medal and 95 points from the International Wine Challenge plus two more Gold Medals, the Saint Clair Pioneer Block 10 Twin Hills is rich, complex, barrel-fermented Marlborough Chardonnay at its very best.

Hailing from the exceptional 2021 vintage, portions of the fruit were handpicked and whole bunch pressed to retain the bright stone fruit and delicate citrus flavours that the region is known for. The palate is rich and full with toast and spice from fermentation in barrel (33% new oak) and finishes long and delectably creamy.

This exceptional wine is drinking excellently now but will also continue to cellar for the next five years or more. Sitting well under the $30 barrier on case buys, this chardonnay offers tremendous value. Don't miss out.

Tasting Notes

Cuisine Magazine writes "A complex nose with plenty going on including lifted oak, bright clean fruit and lees characteristics. The palate also has plenty to enjoy with lots of expressive fruit and bright acid. The texture and weight present are impressive, as is the length."

The winery writes "Complex aromas of preserved lemon, sweet oak and roasted almond on the nose. The palate is round and full with flavours of ripe citrus, roasted hazelnut and a toasty oak note. Nine months maturation on lees in French oak barrels has assisted with creating a rich creaminess and fine tannin structure. This wine will continue to evolve and develop complexity over the next five years and beyond."
